Jody’s story

Jody knew exactly what she was walking into. Her daughter had travelled to the clinic in Antalya a year earlier, so Jody had already seen the whole thing up close: the clinic, the team, and the smile her daughter came home with. When she finally decided to do something about her own teeth, there was no research to do and nobody to convince.

Years of wear had taken their toll on her upper teeth. They had become uneven and shorter than they once were, the shade had darkened, and one tooth sat back behind the others, which showed every time she smiled widely. She had got used to keeping her smile small in photographs.

After talking it through with the team, Jody went ahead with a full set of zirconium crowns in a natural design, shade BL2. Zirconium was the right choice for the wear she had: it rebuilds the shape and length of each tooth and stands up to day-to-day use, while the natural design keeps the edges and translucency looking like teeth rather than a block of white.

The result is an even, straight smile that still suits her face, and one she is no longer trying to hide in photos.

Why it suited Jody: Jody wanted a clear step away from the darkened shade her teeth had drifted to, without going stark white. BL2 gives her the brightness that shows in photographs, with enough warmth to sit naturally against her dark hair and colouring.

Centrals a touch longer than the laterals, softly rounded corners, canines with a gentle point and a smile line that curves with your lip. Small differences between teeth are kept on purpose: that is what reads as real.
Soft

Rounded, gentle, friendly

Fuller, more oval teeth with rounded edges all the way along and no sharp corners anywhere. The smile line curves gently and the canines are softened rather than pointed. Warm rather than striking.
Hollywood

Square, straight, bold

Squarer teeth with straight edges, all the same length, sitting in a flat, even line. Corners are crisp and the canines are squared off to match. Symmetrical and unmistakably done, for people who want the change to show.

Each tooth is shaped with the small variations real teeth have: slightly rounded corners, a soft curve along the smile line and a little translucency at the biting edges. The result looks like a great version of your own teeth rather than a row of identical white blocks.

Why it suited Jody: Her old teeth had worn short and uneven, so the job of the design was to give back proper length and shape. The natural design does that while keeping soft edges and a little translucency, so the new teeth look like hers, only as they should be.
