Jodie’s story

Jodie’s teeth were not far out of line, but the edges had worn and chipped, there was staining between several teeth and a few had darkened at the sides, so her smile looked tired in photos.

Not every story on this page is a rebuild. Jodie already had a good smile, and side by side the before and after photos are closer than most. What changed is the detail: the staining between the teeth has gone, the chipped edges are clean and even, and the shade is one tone brighter across the board. It is the kind of result where people say you look well without being able to say why.

She went ahead with a full set of zirconia crowns in a natural design, shade BL3. That brought every tooth back to an even shape and length and covered the staining, without making her smile whiter than suits her.

The result is clean, bright and even, and it still looks like her smile.

Why it suited Jodie: BL3 is a clear step up from her old shade but keeps a little warmth, which suits her fair skin and dark hair better than the brightest whites.

Like your own teeth, on their best day

Centrals a touch longer than the laterals, softly rounded corners, canines with a gentle point and a smile line that curves with your lip. Small differences between teeth are kept on purpose: that is what reads as real.
Soft

Rounded, gentle, friendly

Fuller, more oval teeth with rounded edges all the way along and no sharp corners anywhere. The smile line curves gently and the canines are softened rather than pointed. Warm rather than striking.
Hollywood

Square, straight, bold

Squarer teeth with straight edges, all the same length, sitting in a flat, even line. Corners are crisp and the canines are squared off to match. Symmetrical and unmistakably done, for people who want the change to show.

Each tooth is shaped with the small variations real teeth have: slightly rounded corners, a soft curve along the smile line and a little translucency at the biting edges. The result looks like a great version of your own teeth rather than a row of identical white blocks.

Why it suited Jodie: The natural design keeps soft, slightly translucent edges and small differences between teeth, so the new smile still looks like hers.
