Stuart’s story

Stuart’s teeth had grown crowded over the years. Several sat out of line or overlapped, the edges had worn unevenly and the shade had yellowed, so his smile looked busier and darker than he wanted.

He went ahead with a full set of zirconia crowns. Zirconia is strong and hard-wearing, so it suits a full rebuild like this, and it lets the shape, length and line of every tooth be set again rather than worked around.

He chose a soft design in shade BL2. The result is a straight, even and bright smile with rounded edges that sits comfortably on his face.

Why it suited Stuart: Stuart wanted a clear, bright change from the yellowed shade his teeth had picked up. BL2 gives him that brightness while still sitting naturally against his skin tone and beard.

Fuller, more oval teeth with rounded edges all the way along and no sharp corners anywhere. The smile line curves gently and the canines are softened rather than pointed. Warm rather than striking.

Square, straight, bold

Squarer teeth with straight edges, all the same length, sitting in a flat, even line. Corners are crisp and the canines are squared off to match. Symmetrical and unmistakably done, for people who want the change to show.

Rounded, gently curved edges and a slightly fuller shape for a softer, friendlier smile. Popular with patients who want a warm look rather than a sharp, angular one.

Why it suited Stuart: The soft design rounds the corners and edges of each tooth, which suits a broad, friendly smile and keeps the new teeth from looking sharp or square.
