Reading a Turkey Teeth Quote: What's Included and What Isn't

By the UK Smiles team Reviewed by Dr Mehmet Kaplan, Head Dentist Published

A good Turkey teeth quote lists every tooth and what it is getting, the material and where it is made, the hotel nights, transfers, scans and temporary teeth, what happens if extra work is needed, and the warranty in writing. Anything missing is either an extra you will pay later or a question to ask now.

Quick answer · Updated

A full Turkey teeth quote should cover the treatment for each tooth, the material, the lab, your scans and X-rays, a trial fit, hotel nights and transfers, and a written warranty. The costs most often left out are extra treatment found on the day, extra nights, flights and a second trip.

What Should a Turkey Teeth Quote Include?

A Turkey teeth quote should let you picture the whole trip without asking a single follow-up question. If you still have to ask what you are getting, the quote is not finished.

These are the ten lines a complete quote covers:

  1. The treatment for each tooth. Which teeth get veneers, which get crowns, and which are left alone.
  2. The material and brand. "Emax" or "zirconia" with the maker named, not "premium porcelain".
  3. Where your teeth are made. An on-site lab or an outside one.
  4. Scans and X-rays. Included, or charged separately.
  5. Temporary teeth and a trial fit. Whether you see and approve your new smile before it is fixed.
  6. Hotel nights. How many, which hotel, and whether breakfast is included.
  7. Transfers. Airport pickups, and every trip to and from the clinic.
  8. What happens if something changes. For example, a tooth that needs a root canal before it can be crowned.
  9. The warranty. How long, what it covers, and who arranges repairs once you are home.
  10. How and when you pay. The deposit, the balance, and any card fees.

The General Dental Council gives the same advice to anyone going abroad for treatment: get the plan and the costs in writing, and ask whether the work is guaranteed and for how long.

So which line causes the most trouble?

Is It Veneers or Crowns? Checking the Treatment Line

The treatment line matters more than the price, because it decides how much of your natural teeth you keep.

A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front of the tooth. A crown covers the whole tooth, so the tooth is filed down on every side.

Plenty of packages advertised as "veneers" are really crowns. The giveaway words are "zirconium veneers", "full set" at one flat price, or no mention of which teeth get which.

Crowns are the right choice for broken, heavily filled or badly worn teeth. They are the wrong choice for healthy teeth that are only stained or slightly uneven.

If a quote does not say which you are getting, tooth by tooth, ask before you do anything else. Our guide to spotting whether your quote is really for crowns walks through the five questions that settle it.

Cross-section of a tooth prepared for a veneer compared with a tooth filed down for a crown
Left: a veneer keeps almost all of the natural tooth. Right: a crown needs the tooth filed down on every side. Your quote should say which each tooth is getting.

Which Material, and Made Where?

Two quotes for "20 crowns" can be completely different products. The material and the lab explain most of the gap.

  • Emax (lithium disilicate) lets light through, so it looks the most natural on front teeth. It usually costs more.
  • Zirconia is the strongest option, suited to back teeth, bridges and people who grind.
  • The brand matters. A good quote names the maker. UK Smiles uses IPS e.max and IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime, both made by Ivoclar.
  • The lab matters too. With an on-site lab, the technicians can see your face and your trial fit in person and adjust the teeth the same day.

If a quote just says "porcelain" or "premium crowns", ask which material and which brand. A clinic that cannot answer quickly is a clinic to question.

What about everything outside the dental chair?

What Should the Package Cover?

Most Turkey teeth packages bundle the trip with the treatment. The question is how much of the trip.

For veneers or crowns, you typically need five nights in Turkey. Day one is arrival. Day two is preparation. The lab then works on your teeth for a couple of days before the trial fit and final fit. You fly home on day six.

Our guide to planning your five nights in Antalya sets out the whole week, day by day.

The UK Smiles journey: a consultation in Leeds or online, about four hours in the air, then five nights in Antalya with the hotel in Lara five minutes from the clinic
A typical veneers or crowns trip: consultation first, then five nights in Antalya.

So check the quote covers:

  • Enough hotel nights for the full treatment, not three nights on a five-night plan.
  • Private transfers from the airport and to every appointment, not just the first.
  • Scans and X-rays at the clinic, which the dentist needs before any tooth is touched.
  • Temporary teeth while your permanent ones are being made.
  • Aftercare once you are home, and who you actually message if something feels wrong.

Implants are different. They need two trips, three to six months apart, while the bone heals around the implant. A quote for implants should say whether the hotel and transfers cover both trips.

You can see everything that goes into a UK Smiles dental holiday package, trip by trip.

The Costs Turkey Teeth Quotes Often Leave Out

The extras are where a cheap headline price turns into an expensive trip. None of these are unusual. They just are not always written down.

  • Treatment found on the day. Root canals, fillings under crowns, extractions or gum treatment, once the dentist has seen your X-rays.
  • Bone grafts or sinus lifts for implants, if the scan shows there is not enough bone.
  • Extra hotel nights if the plan runs longer than the package.
  • A companion, if someone is travelling with you and sharing the room.
  • Card fees, which some clinics add for paying by card.
  • Flights, which are rarely included, plus travel insurance.
  • A second trip for implants, or for a repair, and who pays for it.

The NHS treatment-abroad checklist makes the same point: budget for a longer stay and possible return trips, not just the treatment itself.

Common extra Typical UK Smiles price
FillingAround £80
Root canalAround £100 per root
Standard extractionAround £50
Bone graft or sinus liftAround £140 per cc
Extra hotel nightAround £50
Paying by cardNo extra charge

Those are our prices, so you know what an extra would cost with us before you ask. Plenty of quotes never mention them until you are in the chair.

The fix is simple. Before you pay anything, ask: "If the dentist finds something new, what happens to the price, and do I hear about it before or after the work is done?"

So how do you put two quotes side by side?

How to Compare Two Turkey Teeth Quotes Fairly

Compare line by line, not total by total. Here is an example of two quotes for the same patient. The figures are made up to show the point. They are not from any real clinic.

What's on the quote Quote A: around £2,200 Quote B: around £2,980
Treatment"20 zirconium veneers"Tooth-by-tooth plan: which get crowns, which get veneers
Material"Premium zirconium"Named material and brand
LabNot statedOn-site lab
Scans and X-raysNot listedIncluded
Trial fitNot listedIncluded
Hotel3 nights5 nights with breakfast
TransfersAirport onlyAirport and every appointment
If more work is neededNot statedYou are told first, with the reason
Warranty"Lifetime guarantee"Written terms and length

Quote A looks £800 cheaper. Add two hotel nights, clinic transfers, X-rays and any treatment found on the day, and the gap closes fast. More importantly, you still do not know whether you are getting veneers or crowns.

Be wary of a "lifetime guarantee" on porcelain or zirconia. No ceramic lasts a lifetime, so it is a marketing phrase, not a clinical one. Ask what the written warranty actually covers.

What a UK Smiles Quote Looks Like, Line by Line

Here is part of a real UK Smiles quote, with the patient's details removed. This patient needed All-on-6 on both jaws, so the plan runs over two trips.

Questions to Ask Before You Pay a Deposit

Once you have read the quote, send these seven questions back. A good provider will answer every one in writing, quickly.

  1. Which teeth are getting veneers, which are getting crowns, and why?
  2. Which material and brand, and where is the lab?
  3. Who is my dentist, and can I see their qualifications? (Here is the accreditation a Turkish dental clinic should hold.)
  4. How many hotel nights are included, and do transfers cover every appointment?
  5. If you find something new, what happens to the price, and when do I hear about it?
  6. What does the warranty cover, for how long, and who arranges a repair if I am back in the UK? (It is worth knowing whether a UK dentist will work on Turkey teeth.)
  7. How much is the deposit, is it refundable, and are there any card fees?
How booking works with UK Smiles: book your flights, fill in a form and you are booked in, with nothing to pay up front
With UK Smiles: book your flights, fill in our booking form and you are booked in. Nothing is paid until you are at the clinic.

One more tip: pay at least part of the cost on a UK credit card. For items costing between £100 and £30,000, Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act can make the card company jointly responsible if something goes wrong. Check with your provider how it applies to you.

Still got questions? Most people do.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why are Turkey teeth quotes so different in price?

Mostly because they are not quoting the same thing. The treatment (veneers or crowns), the material and brand, where the lab is, how many hotel nights are included and what happens if extra work is needed all change the price. Line the quotes up item by item before comparing totals.

  • Can the price go up once I arrive in Turkey?

At some clinics, yes, which is why the quote should say what happens if the dentist finds something new, such as a tooth that needs a root canal first. With UK Smiles the written quote is the price you pay, and if the dentist finds something on the day that changes the plan, you hear about it first, with the reason, before anything is done.

  • Is a cheaper Turkey teeth quote always worse?

No. Some clinics simply have lower costs. A cheaper quote is only a warning sign when it leaves out things the other quotes include, uses vaguer words for the treatment or material, or cannot tell you what the warranty covers.

  • Do I need X-rays before I can get an accurate quote?

Photos are enough for an estimate. For a price that will not change, the dental team needs X-rays or a scan, because they show roots, old fillings and bone that photos cannot. UK Smiles can arrange X-rays at a consultation in Leeds before you book anything.

  • Should I pay for Turkey teeth by credit card?

It can add protection. Under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, paying for an item costing between £100 and £30,000 on a UK credit card can make the card company jointly responsible if something goes wrong. Check with your card provider how it applies to you. UK Smiles charges no fee for paying by card.

The easiest way to test any quote is to put ours next to it. Send us three photos of your teeth on WhatsApp, and we will come back with a written, tooth-by-tooth plan and a price that includes your hotel and transfers.
